One Week Friends is an anime popular for its heartwrenching story that was broadcast from April to June of this year. Now, it has been announced that a soundtrack CD including all 32 songs that color the series will be released on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
The soundtrack is a compilation of music by Ironé Toda, a composer who has created music for many movies and games including Metal Gear Solid, with One Week Friends being his first time working on an anime. Also included are the TV-size versions of the opening theme “Niji no Kakera” by Natsumi Kon and the ending theme “Kanade” by Sora Amamiya who plays the voice of the heroine, Kaori Fujimiya.
Accompanying this release of information, the jacket illustration to the soundtrack has been released as well. Kaori turning back toward the viewer makes it an impressive illustration. This illustration was created in the point of view of the protagonist, Yuki Hase, as Kaori turns back to look at him in the middle of class. The price of the soundtrack is 2,800 yen (excluding tax).
Coming before this release will be the release of Volume 3 of the Blu-ray and DVD on Aug. 20. Included as a bonus in the first release limited edition will be “Kaori’s Handwritten Poster,” a replica of the poster Kaori has hanging on the door to her room in the series. Also included will be a full-color 4-koma manga by series creator Matcha Hazuki and “Deluxe Booklet Vol. 3” which will include interviews with Amamiya (Kaori) and Rumi Okubo (Saki Yamagishi). The contents will come packaged in a deluxe sleeve case illustrated for the occasion by character designer Eri Yamazaki.
Included in the regular edition is bonus video content that includes an unedited version of a special talk with the cast and a special version of “Kaori’s Diary: Friday, June 27 to Thursday, July 3.” The Blu-ray will cost 6,800 yen and the DVD 5,800 yen (both prices exclude tax).
