In celebration of the currently ongoing 29th Sanrio Character Ranking, a cafe has opened in Omotesando, Harajuku. The cafe, which will be open from June 28 to July 31, is themed after popular Sanrio characters and offers many original menu items. Let’s take a look at some of the cutest food and drink items available!
The first item we’ll look at, “Pompompurin a la Mode Shaved Ice,” is an item perfect for summer. It comes with pudding-flavored shaved ice in the shape of Pompompurin. At the very top is an edible decoration in the shape of Pompompurin that adds even more cuteness to the dish.
The “Kiki & Lala Fluffy Cloud Smoothie” comes with two flavors to enjoy: strawberry for Lala and banana mint for Kiki. Discover a new flavor by drinking both at the same time! This is definitely a menu item you must try at least once.
Ramen fans would do well to check out the “The specialty of the Chin-Chiku-Rin Cursed Jet-Black Stardust Ramen.” This dish is based on the tonkotsu ramen that Kurou, vocalist of the band Shingan Crimsonz that appears in Show By Rock!!, puts lots of pepper on. The large pieces of nori seaweed in the image of black wings are also eye catching. Sprinkle on the “jet-black stardust” (pepper) to your liking and enjoy!

These drinks are each themed after the Sanrio characters HELLO KITTY, My Melody, Kero Kero Keroppi, and Tuxedosam. Among them is the HELLO KITTY drink, which isn’t a soda but a non-alcoholic apple mojito. Each of the others are colorful sodas themed after a different character.
There are even sandwiches available. Both the “KIRIMIchan. Sandwich” and the “Gudatama Sandwich” accurately portray the traits of these characters. In particular, the “KIRIMIchan. Sandwich” is quite interesting and includes what looks like an actual slice of fish. You may feel like eating it would be a waste, but it’s definitely worth enjoying.
Original goods are also for sale in a shop set up inside the cafe. Here, there are limited goods you can’t get anywhere else, so fans should definitely check it out.
