Ota-Q - “What Are Your Top Three Favorite Anime?” The Results Are in! Did Your Favorite Make the List?

The results are in for the Ota-Q question “What are your top three favorite anime?” posted to the Tokyo Otaku Mode Facebook page from Dec. 23-31, 2013. This time, respondents answered by freely picking their top three favorite anime and the answers were tallied (from a sample of 2,632 valid answers from 1,027 respondents).

So, let’s start with the general ranking!

The highlight here is that everyone’s favorite anime with a total number of 118 votes is Naruto. The results are evidence of the deep-rooted popularity of this series that has been broadcasting since 2002. Coming in at No. 2 with a difference of eight votes is Sword Art Online. Main character Asuna was chosen as the No. 1 female character in last October’s Ota-Q looking at which characters anime fans would most want to date, so it appears as though the series’ popularity is remaining stable. Other series in the ranking include One Piece at No. 3 (97 votes), Attack on Titan at No. 4 (88 votes), and Bleach at No. 5 (82 votes).

Next, let’s take a look at the rankings by gender.

Picking up the most support from males is Sword Art Online. Coming in at No. 2 is Naruto, which came in first in the overall ranking. On the other side, the female ranking includes the female-oriented anime Black Butler, Kuroko’s Basketball, and others.
