On May 3, an event was held at Kotobukiya Akihabara to celebrate the first anniversary of Kotobukiya’s popular figure line Cu-Poche. At the event, tons of new and still in development Cu-Poche figures were on display.
Many fans attended the event, which was held on the fifth floor event space. Many new and prototype Cu-Poche figures of characters from such series as Fate, Idolmaster, and Oreimo were on display, and there was no end to the sound of shutters clicking as fans took pictures of it all.
During the festivities, a cake was brought out illustrated with popular characters from Madoka Magica. There was also a large cake prepared in the middle of the exhibit, and at designated times (11:00, 13:00, and 15:00) fans gathered for a commemorative photo shoot with the Cu-Poche all lined up.
Even after the 13:00 event was over, fans mingled on the lower floors. The venue couldn’t contain their enthusiasm. It seems that Cu-Poche will become even more popular from here on. We’ll keep an eye on how this product line develops.
