New information regarding the two-person female unit MimimemeMIMI, which is comprised of singer/songwriter Yuka and illustrator Chamooi, has been announced. The group’s third single, “Sayonara Usotsuki,” will release on May 28. Also, their first concert, titled “MimimemeMIMI 1st Live “Welcome to MimimemeLAND,” will be held on June 22.
Their third single, “Sayonara Usotsuki,” is being used as the opening theme of the TV anime Blade & Soul which began broadcasting on April 3. It is a grand rock tune produced by Unison Square Garden’s Tomoya Tabuchi. The DVD included on the first release limited edition of the single will feature the non-credit opening of the anime and the music video for “Sayonara Usotsuki.” Also to be included in the regular edition for a limited time is a specially drawn wide cap sticker of the anime. Each version of the single will also include a download code for exclusive items for use in the game Blade & Soul. The limited edition costs 1,680 yen and the regular edition costs 1,080 yen (Both prices include tax.).
MimimemeMIMI’s first concert will be held at Akasaka Blitz. Until now, both members of the group have been active without exposing their identities. It will be interesting to see how the world of MimimemeMIMI that condenses together music and illustrations will be expressed on stage. Advance tickets to the show are available now until April 14 at 23:00 (JST) on their official site. Regular tickets will go on sale on April 26. Tickets cost 3,000 yen (including tax) and drinks are separate.
The TV anime Blade & Soul is an adaptation of an online RPG that is a huge hit in Asia. It is being directed by Hiroshi Takeuchi, animation character designer on Bodacious Space Pirates, and Hiroshi Hamasaki of Steins;Gate fame. The animation is being handled by Gonzo.
