The first one-man exhibit for Takashi Takeuchi, the man behind the visuals of Kara no Kyōkai, has been decided on. “Picture Exhibit: Kara no Kyōkai” will be held at Pixiv Zingaro in Nagano, Tokyo beginning on March 20. The exhibit will feature his best 19 works on display. This auspicious event will give an overarching view of Kara no Kyōkai and Takeuchi’s 15 year history in the business.

In addition to the works on display, there will also be limited goods fans won’t be able to overlook. All of the works on display will also be available as built-to-order reproductions signed by Takeuchi. Because these prints are created using Prima graphics, the highest quality letterpress printing technique, their quality is guaranteed. There is also a lineup of easy to buy items like postcards and tapestries.

A collaboration with Ufotable, the animation studio behind the Kara no Kyōkai movie series, is also planned. Be on the lookout for a collaboration with the Ufotable-managed Ufotable Cafe.

The Blu-ray and DVD of the newest installment in the series, Kara no Kyōkai the Movie: Gospel in the Future, will release soon on Feb. 19. It seems the one-man exhibit at which the worlds of Takeuchi can be thoroughly enjoyed is going to create a huge buzz.

The original work for Kara no Kyōkai is a novel written by Kinoko Nasu. It began serializing as a web novel in 1998 on the site Takebouki sponsored by Takeuchi. In 2001, it gained popularity when it was published as an independent novel. In 2004, it began being published commercially as a novel by Kodansha, after which it began appearing on bestseller rankings and created a movement in one fell swoop. A project to create movies of all seven chapters began in 2007. Being a small movie house anime, it became an exceptionally huge hit. The newest movie in the project, Kara no Kyōkai the Movie: Gospel in the Future, released countrywide in 2013.
