The new TV anime Keroro will begin broadcasting on the anime specialty channel Animax at 19:00 on March 22. The anime’s theme song has been announced. Singing the song “Keroro Pop Star” is Mayumi Gojo who has sung songs for several popular works. Many people may remember Gojo from the PreCure series. “Keroro Pop Star” is a cheerful song indicative of Gojo’s style.
Distribution of a promotional video of the song has also begun on the anime’s official site. The video allows viewers to check out this newest talked-about anime. Continuing the series, Keroro follows the everyday lives of Sgt. Frog, who came to Earth to conquer it and ends up freeloading at the Hinata household, and his subordinates Private Second Class Tamamani, Corporal Giroro, Sergeant Major Kururu, and Lance Corporal Dororo as they attempt to invade Earth.
Keroro to begin broadcasting in April has become talked about for its style that differs from the TV anime so far. It’s a short anime that will be broadcast during the hour long programming block, Keroro Hour. After the broadcast of Keroro, the “Keroro Classic Collection” to include two episodes of the previous anime Sgt. Frog will be broadcast. Enjoy both the past and present of the series together.
There are also many other projects related to Keroro in the works. The gyudon restaurant chain Sukiya began giving out special toys as part of a tie-in campaign to the anime on Jan. 27. The 25th volume of the original manga Sgt. Keroro by Mine Yoshizaki will also release on March 26. And from April 12 to Aug. 31, the picture exhibit “Huge Keroro Exhibit Invades Skip City!” will be held in the Eizo Museum at Skip City in Kawaguchi, Saitama Prefecture. Admission to Eizo Museum costs ￥500 for adults and ￥250 for elementary and middle school students.
