The broadcast of the TV anime Date A Live II will begin this April. Coming before this, new information on the staff and new cast has been announced. A long promotional video is also now available, and it seems like production is advancing smoothly.
First off, the casting has been revealed for the new characters to appear in Season 2. Minori Chihara will voice Miku Izayoi, Shizuka Itō will voice Ellen Mira Mathers, and Ryōtarō Okiayu will voice Isaac Ray Peram Westcott. Each member of this team of popular seiyū has voiced main characters in a number of anime. In sync with this announcement, an illustration of Miku Izayoi has also been released. Her cute outfit gives off an impressive feel.
Staff from Season 1 are reprising their roles for Season 2. Keitarō Motonaga is directing, Hisashi Saitō is the visual director, Hideki Shirane is the series composer, and Satoshi Ishino is the character designer. They will continue to heat up the series in Season 2.
The long PV released comes in at over 2 minutes in length. It features the new opening theme “Trust in You” by seiyū unit Sweet Arms and is crammed with gorgeous new scenes.
Furthermore, it’s been decided that the anime will be participating in AnimeJapan 2014 to be held at Tokyo Big Sight. An event will be held on the Red Stage on March 22 at 17:00. Appearing on stage will be Nobunaga Shimazaki (voice of Shidō Itsuka), Marina Inoue (voice of Tōka Yatogami), Asami Sanada (voice of Kyōzō Tokisaki), and Minori Chihara (voice of Miku Izayoi). The Red Stage is the biggest at AnimeJapan 2014 and can accommodate 2,000 attendees. We wonder what kind of discussion will unfold at the event.
The original work to Date A Live is a popular Fujimi Fantasia Shobo light novel series. The series is authored by Kōji Tachibana and illustrated by Tsunako.
