On Nov. 30, Kyoto Animation and Animation Do will hold the fan appreciation event “KyoAni & Do CTFK 2013” at Miyako Messe in Kyoto. A teaser site for the event has opened, but details won’t be revealed until Oct. 17. Being studios that constantly put out hugely popular works, many are curious to see just what they have planned.
Kyoto Animation, or KyoAni, is widely known for having worked on such hits as The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky Star, K-On!, Nichijō, and Hyōka. On the other hand, Animation Do began as KyoAni’s Osaka studio and branched off to become an associated company. Other companies cooperating in the event are Pony Canyon, Lantis, TBS, Asahi Broadcasting, and Quaras. As well as being a fan appreciation event, fan interest is high as to whether the occasion will also be used for surprising announcements and information on new works that no one will see coming.
Speculations are already running rampant among fans as to what the letters “CTFK” in the event name mean. Is it the title to a new work? Or maybe it refers to KyoAni’s recent hits Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions (C), Tamako Market (T), Free! - Iwatobi Swim Club (F), and Kyōkai no Kanata (K)? In any case, it seems more answers will be revealed on Oct. 17, so stay tuned!
