It has been announced that the creator group Supercell, whose songs have been featured in Bakemonogatari, Guilty Crown, and other TV anime, will release their new album titled Zigaexperientia on Nov. 27. This album comes two and a half years after their previous effort, Today is a Beautiful Day, which went on to become a huge hit. The new album will span 15 songs including “Yeah Oh Ahhh Oh!,” the song used in the commercial for HAL College of Technology & Design.
Supercell is comprised of composer Ryo who is the frontman of the group along with illustrators and designers. The group was presented with the Best New Artist Award at the 24th Japan Gold Disc Awards for their song “Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari,” the theme song to Bekemonogatari. In March 2011, the group’s second album, Today is a Beautiful Day, ranked in the top 10 on Japan’s Oricon ranking for three consecutive weeks. The group also produced the song “My Dearest,” the opening theme to Guilty Crown, making their talent known to the world. Tokyo Otaku Mode Special Creator Redjuice, the original character designer on Guilty Crown, is one member of Supercell.
Zigaexperientia features newly composed songs that have both grand and elaborate sounds and sharply cut into modern society with socially charged messages. The first pressing limited edition will include a gorgeous illustration booklet with specially drawn works by popular illustrators Shirow Miwa, Redjuice, Huke, and Atsuya Uki, as well as a music video compilation and a beautiful desk mat.
