Koyomi was resolute on saving Mayoi from the accident. Eleven years ago, on her way way to meet her divorced mother on Mothers’ Day, Mayoi was hit by a car and died. As she was reluctant to leave this world, she became a ghost. Koyomi and Shinobu decide to save her, and look for her mother. At that time, a child Tsubasa appears, and Koyomi can’t hide his excitement.
However, saving Mayoi from turning into a ghost means that they can’t meet her 11 years later. Having resolved himself, Koyomi waits for Mayoi on the morning of her accident, but upon finding her, he harrasses her like he usually does, and the confused Mayoi jumps out on the road. When Mayoi is just about to be hit by a truck, Koyomi takes the brunt of the impact and succeeds in saving her.
After watching Mayoi safely reunite with her mother, the two are about to return to the present through the shrine. Although they have some doubts about the big surge of spiritual energy at that point in time 11 years ago, they still cross the gate. What will they find upon returning home?
