Moyoco Anno is a manga artist who has created various works including Sakuran and Hataraki Man as well as female characters who are strong in their beliefs. The “Work of Moyoco Anno Exhibit” is currently being held in Stitch Tokyo (Shin-Marunouchi Bldg. 4F) in Chiyoda, Tokyo. Visitors can enjoy Moyoco’s unique perspective on “the beauty of woman.”
A main feature of the exhibit is the original art of Ochibi-san, a manga currently serialized in the Asahi Shimbun. The free exhibit is being held until Aug. 25 and is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Related products and limited goods are also on display and available for purchase at the exhibit. One such product is the “Anno Moyoco x Stitch Tokyo ‘Marunouchi Girls’.” The three Japanese girls are an original design with a retro touch by Anno. Marunouchi glasses specially made by Shotoku Glass are also available for purchase. These glasses feature a sandblasted design created by a glass artisan.
Other noteworthy products for sale are Marunouchi dried fruit and vegetable snacks that come in three cute package designs and each include a different combination of fruits and vegetables, as well as Marunouchi hand towels that feature a Japanese-made print created with a traditional dying process used in Osaka during the Meiji period. Each product is a splendid modern fusion of traditional Japanese art and Moyoco’s unique designs.
