Tsubasa conjectures from several pieces of evidence that she has been transforming into Black Hanekawa during her sleep. Still unaccustomed to her new environment, she hesitantly begins to leave for school when she is stopped by Koyomi's mother, whose words resonate in Tsubasa: "Averting your eyes is not the same as running away."
On the road to school, Episode, the vampire hunter that tried to kill her, suddenly appears in front of Tsubasa. It appears that Gaen Izuko, Oshino Meme's college upperclassman, has hired Episode to come back, and declares to Tsubasa calmly, "I know everything." Tsubasa cannot hide her surprise at Izuko's words. She learns she's not an exception, that she's not even special. One wonders what effect those words may have had on her.
While investigating more into the mystery of Kako the tiger, Tsubasa realizes some commonalities between the burnt down Hanekawa residence and cram school: Both were places that she had slept recently. She comes to a realization about the "fiery jealousy" she's felt since the fire and makes up her mind. She accepts the fact that she will likely never see Koyomi again, and decides to write a letter. She addresses it to the part of herself that has shouldered these burdens…to Black Hanekawa.
