New Visual for Anime Film "Patema Inverted" Releases

Three years after the movie version of Time of Eve, the anime film Patema Inverted will be released Nov. 9. The film, which has already been gathering a lot of attention, is set to be initially released in 14 locations nationwide.

Patema Inverted is a continuation of Time of Eve and is directed by Yasuhiro Yoshiura. With clever storytelling, it is a magnificent and shocking narrative of a world turned upside town.

A preview titled "Patema Inverted: Beginning of the Day" has already been released online, but it is said to be only the prologue of the story.

The film had its world premiere at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival this June where it received a warm welcome. Its release in Japan is awaited with much anticipation.

The story follows Patema, a girl who fell from her home underground, and Eiji, a young boy in an upside-down world who has come to detest the sky. From their curious encounter, they set off together on an adventure in a world that none has ever seen.

The new visual to be released gives us a glimpse at the heart of Patema Inverted. The poster reads, "If you let go, she'll fall into the sky," and depicts an expansive blue sky that seems about to pull them in at any moment.
