The popular manga Yotsuba&! is currently translated into 13 languages and has sold over 10 million copies around the world. In commemoration of its 10th anniversary, an exhibit titled “Yotsuba& Danboard!” will be held at the Parco Museum in Shibuya, Tokyo from Aug. 31 to Sept. 16.
Original drawings, related materials, and sketches will be on exhibit. Also, in commemoration of the short film “Le Danboard” featuring popular character Danboard from Yotsuba&!, figures, goods, and original items will be on display.
In collaboration, related visuals will be screened at the movie theater Cine Quinto within Shibuya Parco 3, and a cafe serving original food and drink items will be introduced.
Yotsuba&! is a manga series written by Kiyohiko Azuma. The story is about a slightly strange girl and her daily episodes with people around her. Since 2008, figures of the character Danboard have ranked No. 1 in the hobby category of Amazon for four years running. The manga received the Excellence Award for Manga at the 2006 Japan Media Arts Festival and has been selected as one of Japan’s Media Art Top 100.
