Gundam Theme Park "Gundam Front Tokyo" Announces Special Summer “Walkthrough" Event

From July 20 to Sept. 1, Diver City Tokyo's Gundam theme park located in Odaiba called Gundam Front Tokyo will be holding a "Walkthrough" event, allowing participants to view a life-size Gundam model up close.

At the event, participants will be able to walk in between the 18-meter Gundam's legs, giving fans the chance to view the model at an angle from which it cannot usually be seen. A stage will be set up for the length of the event, and from 7-10 p.m. each day the Gundam will be lit up by LED lights around its legs.

During the event period, a Gundam Front Tokyo stamp rally will also be taking place. There will be four to six points set up nearby––such as inside Gundam Front Tokyo, Gundam Cafe, and the trailer shop next to the Gundam model––at which attendees can collect stamps. Those who collect four or more stamps will receive a present.

In addition, from Aug. 1 to the beginning of September, a special exhibit called “Gundam Science Exhibit” will take place. This exhibit will explore the science behind the space colonies and Mobile Suits from the series, comparing these technologies to modern science and space development to offer a glimpse at the possibilities of the world of the future.
