“The Flowers of Evil” Episode 10 Recap

“How are you feeling, boy?
Tonight has taught you that everything
Is no more than mere fabrication.
In this moment of gruesome agony, it is crumbling,
Your meager little philosophy, which you believed until now
For the sake of protecting yourself,”
The devil, having smelt the despair with his sharp nose, asked the boy.
The cold raindrops falling mercilessly
Make the boy’s fair face even paler
As he is standing in the dark forest,
Petrified, unable to say a word.

The two of them get on the bike, aiming for a place far away, beyond the mountains, a place other than this godforsaken town. Despite knowing that there is no such thing as “the other side,” they still had to try to escape.

Takao couldn’t face the feelings of Saeki, who chased after him in the rain, because he was afraid to accept that he is “hollow,” as he wanted to believe that he, reading “The Flowers of Evil” by Baudelaire, is different from other people, that he is special.

Although he believes Saeki, disappointed in himself for not being being able to meet Nakamura’s expectations as a pervert, he screams, “I’m nothing, I’m just a piece of shit.”
Where will this distorted love triangle with their emotions crossing each other take us?
