“Detective Conan: Private Eye in the Distant Sea” Achieves Series Record High in Box Office Earnings

Praised for it’s popularity among all generations, Detective Conan has achieved another great record. Since it’s opening on April 20, Detective Conan: Private Eye in the Distant Sea has become the highest grossing movie in the series.

June 9 marked 51 days since the film opened, and at that time, 2,915,894 people had attended and the movie had taken in over 3.5 billion yen in box office revenue. These totals mark a series high over the 13th Conan movie, Detective Conan: The Raven Chaser, which opened on April 18, 2009. This achievement shows that the popularity of the Conan brand is continuing to grow in the years since the start of the movie series in 1994.

Lupin III vs. Detective Conan: The Movie is scheduled to open this December. It seems as though Conan may be around throughout the year.
