On May 22, Illustration 2013 from Sotec became available to purchase. It is an ultimate illustration collection that expresses “modern illustrations” in one book. Works of approximately 150 illustrators active in various genres from anime and manga to modern art were collected for the book.
On June 1, a talk session was held at the Shosen Book Tower of Akihabara in commemoration of the book’s release. Illustrators Torako and Chamooi participated. The duo have created numerous works together including Google+ Cover.zip, an illustration collection that was distributed for free at Comic Market Summer 2012, and the art for AKB48’s Mayu Watanabe’s single, “Hikaru Monotachi.”
Furthermore, Torako is the manager of the illustration circle 100cca and has supported many creators who have produced numerous hardcore illustrations. Chamooi is active in major genre projects from Vocaloid to idols.
It was extremely exciting seeing two creators together who are active in different genres. The first 40 people who arrived recieved an original tapestry as a gift.
