Beginning this July, the TV broadcast of the new anime Genei wo Kakeru Taiyou will begin. Unlike many other anime, it doesn’t have an original work from manga, games, or novels; it is an original anime. Other than that, information on the anime’s characters and story is still mostly unknown. Currently, what is known is that the anime will feature battles that unfold around the use of tarot cards. It’s also known that the four main girls will each have two character designs.
The artists who will sing the anime’s theme songs have now been determined. The opening theme will be sung by LiSA, and the ending theme will be sung by Natsumi Okamoto. Due to these two being known as active female artists, their selection is appropriate since the girls in the anime are also active.
LiSA was bathed in attention in the spring of 2010 when she performed the vocals for the character Yui in the fictional band Girls Dead Monster in the anime Angel Beats. After her solo debut in the spring of 2011, three of her songs consecutively ranked in the top 10 on the Oricon Singles Weekly Ranking. Her song “Traumerei” is the first of her songs to be used as an opening theme to an anime in roughly a year, her last being “Crossing Field.” LiSA’s sound is thick and solid and her vocals are emotional and powerful. “Traumerei” will release on Aug. 7.
On the other hand, the ending theme “Mirage” is Natsumi Okamoto’s first single. This winner of the “6th All-Japan Anison Grand Prix” held in October 2012 is finally putting her talent on display. The song is produced by Shigeo Komori, who also produced the music used in the anime K-On. “Mirage” will go on sale on July 24.
