The members of the vocal unit Prizmmy are known for their pure, smiling faces, beautiful voices, and, most of all, amazing dance skills! At Nico Nico Cho Kaigi 2, an otaku music event, these idols were cheered on by many fans. Colorful outfits adorned their cute physiques, and their dancing was so beautiful, you couldn’t even dream of it. In April of 2011, Prizmmy - at that time composed of three girls: Mia, Reina, and Karin - performed at PrismMates as the live-action part of Pretty Rhythm: Aurora Dream. At an event held by the record company Avex titled “Kiratto Entertainment Self Challenge Contest 2011 Summer,” Pretty Rhythm Award-winner Ayami joined the group to make it a 4-girl dance and vocal unit.
Prizmmy’s charm isn’t just their dancing. Because they are a unit born from anime, they are very active in the 2D world due to the four main characters of the anime Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future being modeled after them. This season is set three years after the last, so the main character idol unit was switched to Prizmmy. Even in the anime, the girls are active as Prizmmy, and the story develops being intermixed with live-action parts.
The hugely popular Karin (12 years old) has a lovely smile, Mia (13 years old) is a fashion leader, Reina (13 years old) is a scatterbrained mood maker, and Ayami (11 years old) is the youngest of the group and is seen as a little sister-like character. At Nico Nico Cho Kaigi 2, these four talented girls performed their new song, “Boy Meets Girl.” The whole event center was enlivened by their energetic dancing. It was like anime heroines coming to life and being able to meet them in reality. They were hugely popular not only with kids but also otaku.
On May 22, the CD single for Prizmmy’s cover of TRF’s famous song “Boy Meets Girl” went on sale. The limited edition of the single comes with an illustrated choreography sheet. Definitely make sure to check out the charm of the energetic Prizmmy.
