Daft Punk, who released their new album Random Access Memories on May 22, are being made into action figures! Pre-orders for these figures are currently being accepted at the website listed below.
Daft Punk is a highly influential electronic music duo from France. Their dazzling and brilliant dance tunes have made them famous the world over. In 2001, with the announcement of their second album Discover, the duo collaborated with manga legend Leiji Matsumoto. The collaboration resulted in the animated feature film Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem that uses a compilation of the entire CD as its soundtrack, and it became a huge hit when it was released. Recently, their song “One More Time” (also off of Discover) has been used in a Japanese commercial campaign for Au’s “Full Control.” Their new album Random Access Memories takes the duo to new heights - mixing the sounds of the ‘70s, ‘80s, and the future - and is their first original work in eight years.
In commemoration of their new album, figures of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo have been announced. These figures stand 150 millimeters in height and each cost 4,725 yen (tax included). Both figures are fully movable, so they can be posed in a variety of ways. Furthermore, Daft Punk’s iconic helmets have been recreated with a realistic metallic look. These are a definite must-buy for any Daft Punk fan!
