“The Devil is a Part Timer!” Episode 4 Recap: “The Hero Experiences Human Warmth”

Chiho, a high school girl who Mao works with, suggests that they get together to talk, and Mao accompanies her to tea.

However, they are followed by Ashiya and Emi. Then, a huge earthquake hits, and Mao, Chiho, and Emi become buried in the rubble.

At that time, not knowing why, Mao regains some of his magical power and returns to his original form. Emi then puts Chiho to sleep so that she doesn’t find out Mao’s true identity as the Devil King and the three escape the rubble safely. However, they are followed by a suspicious shadow.

In the last episode, Mao puts himself on the line to save those harmed by the sudden earthquake. In regard to the spectacle that plays out before her, Emilia can’t hide her confusion due to her strong hatred toward Mao. It will be interesting to find out how Emilia’s attitude toward Mao will change due to this event.

Is Mao really such a bad guy? Showing that he only has a soft heart, it seems there is something he is hiding. Be on the lookout for what this is as the story develops further.

In the second half of the episode, the Demon General Lucifer appears in the human world. Lucifer shows his true form with complete disregard to those in the town and begins to rampage. An atmosphere hangs in the air that implies that Lucifer and Mao are not comrades. It doesn’t seem like Mao is such a bad guy after all. So, does that mean that the real evil is Lucifer? Don’t miss the next episode!
