Production on the Hollywood Version of “Death Note” Seems to be Moving Forward

Even though a Hollywood version of Death Note was officially announced in 2008, since then no new information has come to light. However, it seems that production on the movie is moving forward.

In a recent interview, director Shane Black commented, “Right now I’ve got this thing at Warner Bros. called Death Note that I like a lot. It’s a Japanese manga that’s very tense and really cool.”

Black has become hugely popular for his work on the new movie Iron Man 3. While he was reported as being the director of the live-action film adaptation of Death Note back in 2011, there hasn’t been any news since, leading to rumors that production on the film had been halted.

Unfortunately though, Black didn’t give any concrete details about the status of the movie’s production in the interview, so the movie is likely to still be a ways off.
