On April 25, Spike Chunsoft started distributing the iOS sound novel Kamaitachi no Yoru: Smart Sound Novel. It costs 1,000 yen (tax included). Smart Sound Novel is a remake of Kamaitachi no Yoru, a Super Nintendo game released in 1994 by Chunsoft. It is a classic that drew attention as the second in the sound novel series after Otogirisou.
A sound novel is basically an adventure game that is centered around text. The graphics are not very showy, but there are changes to the story depending on the player’s actions, and the gameplay makes you feel like you are the main character in a detective story.
In the iOS edition of the sound novel, some updates were made. The graphics were remade into HD and the sounds were also re-recorded, resulting in a gorgeous performance. Spike Chunsoft is planning on also distributing works from other series, so look forward to them!
