This time, let’s take a look at the second season of Oreimo, Uta no Prince-sama: Maji Love 2000%, The Flowers of Evil, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Attack on Titan, and Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W.
Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai (Season 2)
The second season for the highly popular series Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai (or known simply as Oreimo) has finally begun! Oreimo is a comedy that follows Kyosuke and his younger sister Kirino, who, despite being a world-class beauty and model, is obsessed with otaku culture, particularly eroge games. The story depicts their delicate relationship as Kyosuke gives Kirino “life counseling” and helps her come to terms with her “hobby,” which she keeps a secret from their parents. The pacing of the story hasn’t changed since the first season, so fans don’t have to worry. This season depicts the ending to the original work. Watch it to see what’s in store for these two siblings.
Uta no Prince-sama: Maji Love 2000%
This anime is based on the female-oriented game series. It is also a continuation of the 2011 anime Uta no Prince-sama: Maji Love 1000%. The story follows Haruka Nanami, a girl enrolled in the Saotome Academy performing arts school, and depicts the showy activities of the handsome male idol group Starish. This is a cheerful and fun love comedy that is recommended for those who want to get their fill of the exploits of these excessively cool guys.
The Flowers of Evil
*The Flowers of Evil* is an adolescent story by Shuzo Oshimi. The anime has picked up attention for being created using a technique called “rotoscoping” in which footage is traced over, frame by frame. Due to the character designs undergoing a bold change from the original manga, big discussions have been brewing on the internet. Themed around the melancholy of adolescence, we have no idea how the main character’s distorted love will be portrayed. This is one anime you won’t be able to take your eyes off of until its conclusion.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Calling all Bronies, the Japanese broadcast of the hugely popular American anime My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has finally begun! Bronies in Japan are sure to enjoy the translated script from the English version and the performances by the voice cast. This is sure to create a Bronie craze in Japan!
Attack on Titan
*Attack on Titan* is the anime adaptation of the hugely popular manga by Hajime Isayama. The story follows Eren and his friends as they struggle to survive being hunted by mysterious, giant creatures in an apocalyptic world. The anime is being directed by Tetsuro Araki, who is known for also directing Guilty Crown and Death Note. We are excited to see how the intense and strange subject matter of the manga will be presented in the anime.
Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W
*Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W* is the second season of the anime Haiyore! Nyaruko-san. It features an irreverent and bewildering story in which the Cthulhu-deities from H.P. Lovecraft’s works are actually alien races. The anime is a comedy that follows Nyaruko, an alien from the planet Nyarlathotep who comes to Earth and falls in love with Mahiro Yasaka, a high school boy whose pleasant and carefree days come crashing down when Nyaruko arrives. The anime is known for its rapid-fire parodies of the anime and special effects genres, and this hasn’t changed for the second season. New characters will also be introduced this season. Get strapped in for this non-stop roller coaster ride full of gags and unbelievable moments!
