On March 30, the animated film Hanasaku Iroha: Home Sweet Home was finally released in theaters in Japan. Since the TV anime was so well received, fans have been hotly anticipating the movie. In commemoration of the movie’s release, from March 29 to April 14, a collaboration project was carried out at Akihabara’s Cure Maid Cafe.
Cure Maid Cafe also held a similar collaboration project when the TV anime for Hanasaku Iroha was still broadcasting. However, the contents of this collaboration were completely different. A new drink menu was offered that featured drinks based on Matsumae Ohana and other characters from the series. Also available was a special drink called “Satsuki, Moonlight Rendezvous” which was only available to those who brought in a ticket stub to the movie.
The food menu also included two kinds of dishes and sweets. The items, including a legendary dish from Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture (the setting for the series) and Kissuiso’s hospitality sweets, all delighted fans.
Those who ordered from the collaboration menus also received an exclusive postcard as a present. Furthermore, rare Hanasaku Iroha goods were on display, including a sightseeing poster used in Kanazawa, a special newspaper given out at theaters, and more. It was a great opportunity for fans to get a unique glimpse into the world of Hanasaku Iroha.
