At last, Starmarie has begun their advancement overseas in America. Starmarie is a unique idol unit that blends the world of dark fantasy into their dancing and performing.
Since last year, Starmarie has been collaborating with the Goth Loli brand Opera House Chocolate. They have been taking great strides to advance themselves overseas. For example, pictures of them dressed in Goth Loli fashion were published in a free paper that was distributed in Los Angeles. Also, live performances, promotional videos, and messages from the unit are available on YouTube. Now, all their hard work is finally paying off.
Currently, Starmarie can be seen on the website for a campaign by All Nippon Airways called 360° Japan, which introduces Japanese culture to those overseas. It has also been announced that the trio will perform at this year’s Anime Expo in Los Angeles. The members of Starmarie seem to be overjoyed by this, as they had their sights set on Los Angeles ever since they announced last summer their plans to expand overseas.
Aside from their dancing and performing, it seem the group also wants to assertively convey to English-speaking people on Facebook and other social media sites the charm of their “strange yet fantastical lyrics of people dying one after the other.”
For readers in America who have never seen Starmarie perform live, you will get your chance when they come to Anime Expo 2013 from July 4-7.
