On March 23 at the Alessandro Nannini Cafe inside Toyota Mega Web, an announcement was made that thrilled racing fans and Itasha fans alike.
In 2008, AS Racing quickly adopted Itasha culture into motorsports. Now, AS Racing announced that they will be using the Super Endurance Series ST-2 in 2013. They also revealed the design for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X in front of fans.
The new 2013 Itasha, the GRG Lancer Evo X, is a collaborative effort with Mori Chack and his character Gloomy. To match with Gloomy’s coloring, this cute Itasha’s main color is pink, and a new team called Gloomy Racing Genus has been formed to race with it. The body of the car features the cute character. An exclusive app has also been created. With the app, you can scan the alternate reality (AR) code on the car’s roof and enjoy an animation of Gloomy dancing via AR technology. The app is a playful finish for the Itasha’s design.
Also at the event, AS Racing announced the Super Endurance Series ST-5 Class, a continued collaboration with manga artist Kia Asamiya and the Toyota Vitz. The Moebius Ring Racing Vitz will be used by Moebius Ring Racing.
There is no chance that this pink Itasha will be overlooked on the circuit!
