Sasami has been taken back to the remains of the Tsukuyomi Shrine by Juju, who has returned from the Underworld.
Tsurugi has been thrown into the Underworld by Juju, and Kagami is battered and unable to move. Tama, the only one remaining, tearfully makes her way to Tsukuyomi Shrine.
Juju coldly tells a drugged Sasami to perform her final duty.

The history of the Tsukuyomi lineage revealed by her mother and the destiny put upon Sasami are beyond imagination.
Born and raised solely to protect the balance of the world as a miko (shrine maiden), Sasami had finally attained a peaceful life, only to have it destroyed in an instant.
Together with Tama, who is also suffering from the loss of her calm life, Sasami faces her mother. They manage to defeat her with the combined power of a spell Sasami learned from her mother, Tama's strength, and Tsurugi who returns from the Underworld.
Later on, while dozing in bed, Sasami receives a phone call from Tsurugi in the Underworld. Feeling encouraged, Sasami vows to her that she will ganbaru (try her best). From here on out, it'll be good for us to keep a watch on Sasami, who is moving forward one step at a time while facing her past, her mother and even herself.
