“Nintama Rantaro” 20th Anniversary Special Anime to Air on March 20

In celebration of the anime’s 20th anniversary, a Nintama Rantaro special called The Ninjutsu Academy and the Mysterious Woman: This is an Event! will air on NHK on March 20 from 10:05-10:50 a.m.

The story begins with Rantaro and Fushikizo running into a mysterious woman who is being chased by the Tasogaredoki ninja. It’s revealed that the woman is the leader of the Dokutake ninja clan, Hieta Happosai. An assassination against him failed, and, having no place to go, he came to the academy to blend in. Not fully understanding the situation, Rantaro and the gang decide to investigate on their own. The story depicts a three-way struggle between Ninjutsu Academy, Dokutake Castle, and Tasogaredoki Castle.
