Ebichu to Perform Ending Theme to “Pokémon”! Dream Collaboration with Pikachu Takes Place!

Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku (known simply as Ebichu) is the protegee unit of the popular Japanese idol unit Momoiro Clover Z. On Jan. 16, 2013, Ebichu’s third single “Plum” reached number three on Oricon chart’s Weekly Singles Ranking.

It was recently announced that the group will be in charge of the ending theme to the anime Pokémon Best Wishes Season 2, which just entered a new chapter. The title of the ending theme is “Sakura Go-Round”. A dream collaboration between Ebichu and Pikachu was also recently realized as Pikachu joined the unit on stage at an event. Pikachu’s surprise appearance had fans bustling.

The producer of Ebichu is Hyadain (Kenichi Maeyamada), a well known name in the Japanese idol world. On March 31, the unit will perform a solo concert at Yomiuri Land East. Judging from their current achievements, these girls may become the next hit idol group this year!
