The new film for the series Garo will be released not only in Japan, but overseas as well. The series is popular for its intense action and impressive special effects. It has been revealed that the new movie, Garo: Sokoku no Maryu (*Garo: Demon Dragon of the Blue Cries*), will release simultaneously in Japan and Taiwan on Feb. 23.
Garo is an adult-oriented series that is known for it’s magnificent visuals and special effects. The series has many fans both in Japan and overseas. The series is particularly popular in Taiwan, where the entire series has already been released on video. The decision to simultaneously release the movie in Japan and Taiwan stems from Taiwanese fans’ desire to see the movie in theaters. The amount of movies that release simultaneously in Japan and overseas are few, making Garo: Sokoku no Maryu a rare movie event that both fans in Japan and Taiwan can enjoy together.
Activities to promote the movie are taking place in Taiwan until the movie’s release. One such promotion will take place at the Taipei International Comics & Animation Festival from Feb. 14-18. At the event, special booths will be set up to convey the latest information about the movie to attendees. It is also planned that the movie’s director Keita Amemiya will make a special guest appearance in Taiwan.
Garo: Sokoku no Maryu will be the last time that Ryosei Konishi will reprise his role as the main character Kouga Saejima. Within the movie, many cute characters, similar to those from the world of fairy tales, will make appearances. Look forward to this new magical film by director Amemiya.
