Popular episodes were featured on the big screen all throughout the night!
The Space Runaway Ideon (known in Japan as Densetsu Kyojin Ideon) Blu-ray box was released on Feb. 2, 2013. In commemoration of the release, an all night theater event called “Space Runaway Ideon Come-back Festival” was held at Shinjuku Milano 2 from Feb. 1-2 starting at 10:30 pm. Tickets for the event were 4000 yen.
According to a poll on the anime’s official site, 12 episodes were chosen to be screened. Staff from the anime attended and participated in a talk show. Participants included general manager Yoshiyuki Tomino, character designer Tomonori Kogawa, and mechanical engineer Yuuichi Higuchi. Those who attended received a free B2 size poster of an original advertisement for the movie drawn by Higuchi.
The Blu-ray box includes seven discs and costs 57,330 yen. The limited first edition will include a 400 page book full of information and photos spanning the entire series.
