On Jan. 12, the newest figure in Kotobukiya’s ARTFX J series, “Movie Trigun: Badlands Rumble ARTFX J Vash the Stampede”, went on sale. In commemoration of the figure’s release, an all-night screening of the movie Trigun: Badlands Rumble was held on Feb. 2. In addition to the movie being screened, Yasuhiro Nightow, the creator of Trigun selected the episode “Ajon” to also be screened.
Trigun began serialization in 1995 and was highly acclaimed for its cool story and intense action. In 1998, the anime adaptation began airing. A movie followed in 2010, which was widely supported by the series’ deep rooted fanbase. The story of Trigun follows the main character Vash the Stampede, a resourceful gunman and a staunch pacifist.
At the all-night event, Nightow and the movie’s director, Satoshi Nishimura, were in attendance and conducted a talk panel and special tournament.
