Do you know the anime song mix CD “J-Anison Kamikyoku Matsuri [DJ Kazu in No.1 Muneatsu Mix]”? The CD was released in February 2012 and features a compilation of anime songs as a non-stop DJ mix. The album is quite original and compiles the songs in a different way than most other anime song CDs. The album features the songs “Motteke! Sailor Fuku” from Lucky Star, “Pre-Parade” from Toradora, and “Hare Hare Yukai” from The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi, as well as others. The album has 46 songs in total and has gained great popularity, selling more than 70 thousand copies.
A continuation of the CD, titled “J-Anison Kamikyoku Matsuri~Legend~[DJ Kami in No.1 Fumetsu Mix]”, will be released on Mar. 13, 2013. The tracklist this time includes the opening theme to Martian Successor Nadesico, “You Get to Burning”, and the ending theme to Dragon Ball, “Romantic Ageru Yo”, as well as 43 other songs compiled into one giant, heart-pumping mix. One thing to take notice of is the jacket design on the CD. Popular illustrator Ito Noizi will once again be drawing a design for the jacket. She is not the only one though. Rui Araizumi, Haruhiko Mikimoto, as well as other artists will also be contributing.
Following in the same fashion as when the first CD was released, Nico Nico Seiga is holding the event “Popper-kun and Beautiful DJ Girls Illustration Contest” to commemorate the second CD’s release. The winner of the contest will have his or her work featured on another jacket for the CD. The event is going on now until Jan. 20.
