Hatsune Miku Orchestra (HMO) is a group that covers songs from the popular group Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO) using Vocaloid software. Along with their leading member, a Vocaloid producer who goes by the name HMO Toka no Naka no Hito, HMO released their second album, called “Zoshoku Gimi X≒MULTIPLIES”, on Dec. 19, 2012. The album uses the motif of YMO’s 1980 album, “Multiplies”.
The album features Saki Fujita, who provided voice samples for the Hatsune Miku software, and Yu Asakawa, who provided voice samples for the Megurine Luka software. On the album, these two tell a short story in between songs. In the story, Hatsune Miku is a newcomer train conductor and Megurine Luka is a pet cat.
The short story was written by science fiction writer Hosuke Nojiri, who has won seven Seiun awards for his work. The story is side-splittingly funny due to the cuteness of Miku and Luka and is sure to become a masterpiece. Along with the regular edition of the CD, a limited first edition will go on sale at the same time. The limited first edition will include a special Hatsune Miku Nendoroid, called “Nendoroid Petit HMO Hatsune Miku Zoushoku Gimi Version”. The price of the regular edition is 3,000 yen and the price of the limited first edition is 4,200 yen (both prices include tax).
