Very thick, a lot of text

I thought this would be more of a magazine, but it's actually quite thick, almost artbook quality. Very nicely printed, but to be honest I would not recommend this if you don't read Japanese. There's a lot of text, and the section with Wolf Children illustrations is fairly small.

Great Playset

Another excellent nendoroid play set!

I do want to note, for shipping purposes, that this box is bigger than the other playsets. (Japanese and Classroom) A little bit larger than older Nendoroid boxes.

Completing Kuroboshi collection... for now

Another addition in my Kino's Journey collection! Kuroboshi's art is as beautiful as ever.

I do want to note that there are some lewd drawings of Kino that I didn't love. But other than that, great book. There's also quite a bit of Fate/Grand Order, and some drawings of Miku figures Kuroboshi designed. Plus a solid section for Gun Gale Online Alternative.

Solid little case for mini figures

I've been using this for a couple of years now, and it's help up remarkably for my small price figures. Highly recommend!

Flimsy, covered in scratches

I was really excited to receive this geometry set however.... when I opened the rules, I found a lot of white lines. On further inspection, I discovered these were scratches. These are flimsy rulers, and it was surely the shipping process that marked them up. I'll still use them, but a normal, stronger geometry set would have been way more worth it.

Jesus christ

I have not opened her up from the box yet, but......... Jesus christ she's huge! When an enormous box landed on my doorstep, I assumed it was just careful packaging, but no, Tama is just gigantic! Fair warning to any of those keen on displaying or keeping her box, you will have trouble finding a place for it. It's big, gorgeous, and completely unlike anything I've ever bought before.

Very nice monochrome art

I wasn't familiar with Kei Koboyashi until now, but I'm definitely intrigued now! I really loved the art and feel of this book. While the cover appears to be hardbound, it is actually rather flexible and bends like cardstock. Page corners are rounded, and the monochrome art is extremely interesting, with truly incredible skill in shading. I also find this book lies flat better than any other artbook I own. A great buy for fans of unsettling, disorienting, sketchy art.

Summary
Summary$7.99

Smaller than expected

Gemi's art is truly breathtaking. Atmospheric and thought-provoking, I seriously adore the images in this book. However, it was smaller than I expected. The format also was not a great choice, as horizontal images were put on single vertical pages, leaving a lot of useless white space. A good intro to Gemi, but I really recommend picking up Moist, a larger, more gorgeous book with many two-page spreads!

Sparkly, large strap

I bought this mainly because I have vol 27. The included strap is big and adorable, and the book is just as sparkly as vol 27. Super cute stuff for Space Brothers fans!

Iroruriha
Iroruriha$5.99

Colorful character art

I have bachico's 2nd Iroruhiha, so the completionist me ordered this book. To my surprise, this book is a bit larger, closer to letter size. Once again, I love the clean, pretty art. Some pages are a bit risqué.

Cute rubber charms

These charms are intended as umbrella charms. This means that you attach them to your umbrella and then use them to prop umbrellas on hard objects. They're intended to stop umbrellas from slipping, such as on wood tables.

However, as simply decoration, these charms work equally well. Inspired by the special school festival episode of Free! Eternal summer, the charms really capture the fun of the episode and the show.

Kenji with a good stand

The other figure I've found of Kari Kenji is said to be difficult to stand up. Thankfully, this figure comes with a good stand, so you need not fear the figure falling over. Super cute!

Ruko needs her Tama!

Wixoss was one of my favorite anime of its season. Making Ruu into a nendoroid alongside Tama is kind of interesting because it is as if Ruko has shrunk down to Tama's size. The result is simply adorable!
Now, I have to get Tama some time as well! They simply must be a pair.

The trickiest part of Ruu are the stickers. You can put these stickers on her pass case, so that it's as if Ruu is carrying one of her friends inside the card case. These stickers are very small, and for a butterfingers like me, they can be kind of scary to apply.

Truly unique nendoroid

Kirby is truly a unique addition to the nendoroid line, and a welcome one. Super cute, and the magnet concept is great! I truly love how much you can customize this nendoroid.

Gorgeous Persona 3 art

The first quarter or so of the book features full-colored art, presumably promotional art for the movie. There's some truly gorgeous full-page spreads in here, and as a fan of the game, they really helped me revisit the beauty of Persona 3. The rest of the book appears to be development sketches, which I found really interesting. This book is filled to brim with the unique, almost creepy character art style of Persona 3, and I really recommend it to fans of the game!

Cute washi tapes

These are standard washi tapes and can be torn like masking tape. They have a glossy texture and are not as translucent as other washi tapes.

Like my previous review on the Wolf Children masking tape, I think these tapes are super adorable and great to use if you're a fan of the movie!

Iconic background art

One of the best parts of Ghibli movies is the amount of detail in the backgrounds. This thick book collects many of them in a beautiful anthology. Only about a third of the art is colored. The rest appear to development sketches and concept art. Artworks featured came from "Letters" (which I believe is Letters to Momo? Not entirely sure.), "My Neighbor Totoro", "Only Yesterday", and "Pompoko",

Be warned, there's quite a bit of Japanese in the book. The book includes commentary of Isao Takahata, a long interview with Hayao Miyazaki, and two interviews with Oga Kazuo himself. Overall, I loved the artwork in this book, but many pages were us...

Ame is adorable

Very cute little figure! Stands up fine without a base ans is well made. I recently saw these same figures selling for $30 at a local anime convention, so I'm very happy I was able to score Ame! Definitely going to pick up Yuki when she gets back in stock.

Natural Rose has a strong scent

The headrest necklace is an interesting concept, and I liked the idea of having something to decorate my car. The little roses are made of a paper material rather than plastic. It's not particularly durable, but it is very cute.

However, I find the scent to be just a little bit to strong. I ended up putting the necklace on the backseat of my car, but the scent still bothers me a little. Hopefully it will fade a little bit in the next couple of days.

Holographic files!

When I ordered these files, I was uncertain as to which file I would be receiving, as two images for each movie were displayed. To my surprise, each file includes BOTH images, as they are holographic and change images depending on the viewing angle! I love that a single file can capture two gorgeous images!

Holding them in your hand can make the image unstable, however. If you want to see a single image, it's best to lay the folders flat.

Adorable mountain girl!

This is my first nendoroid, and I'm extremely happy with her! I was super scared that her parts would be fragile and that I wouldn't be able to figure out how to put her together, but it was intuitive enough. Her little climbing sticks detach, revealing a smaller plastic core that neatly fits into Yukimura's alternate hands.

Yama no Susume (Encouragement of Climb) was a short, 12-minute long episodes anime that was very sweet. It's a relaxing, slice-of-life about a shy girl getting over her fear of heights to climb mountains. I related to Yukimura a lot, so I love this little nendoroid version of her.

Fun little mascot

It's cute, a perfect quirky gift for one of my quirky friends.
I would not recommend hanging him on a bag that receives a lot of use, however. The strap is attached to a ring of the same foam that makes up Banao, which makes me suspect that it would break easily.

I find this mascot fairly firm. It gives under pressure, but is not incredibly squishy.

Good masking tape set!

These are standard washi tapes and can be torn like masking tape. They come packaged together and are super cute! Really excited to use them on my stationary items, especially since I'm a big fan of Wolf Children. Keep in mind, these have a glossy texture and are not as translucent as other washi tapes.

Complete box set

Despite the description, you're guaranteed to get the entire set, along with Popsicle Rin and an extra Makoto. They came in cartons that all come together in a big display box. The cartons, however, are unmarked so it's a fun surprise opening them one by one.

Super cute figures! There's only minor assembly required, namely attaching some of their arms and putting them in their stands. Be careful with the stands, as they are a little tricky. You'll know which hole goes where because one peg will be slightly larger than the other. The one downside is that they smell heavily of plastic upon opening them.

Cute Nendoroid

My first nendoroid!
Apo is adorable, and the manga volume is even more sparkly than I anticipated.
Apo's head comes off on a ball joint, but other than that, no other part of him is posable. The attention to detail on his body is great. I especially love the little heart patch on his sleeve!

Weak Suction

I only have one Nendoroid Petite (Apo, included with the Limited Edition Volume 27 of Space Brothers), but so far this stand has not worked with him. It only holds him for about half a minute before the stand comes lose.

I don't know if that's because Apo is a particularly heavy nendoroid, but either way do not expect this stand to work for heavier figures. :(

Battaru!

I'm familiar with Wixoss due to the anime, but I've never played the card game. This book was filled with fabulously detailed and bright art of the familiar Wixoss characters I knew, alongside many from the card game I did not know. There was a good mix of single image pages along with multi-image pages, as well as a good mix of artwork from several different artists. As an artbook itself, it's a great buy, especially for fantasy and bishoujo fans. Some pictures are suggestive, but no outright nudity.

The book is split up into sections.

This corresponds to the "types" of Wixoss decks. ...

Postcards, Artbooks & More- As promised

This is my first TOM lucky bag and the last bag in stock, so I was pretty excited. I love artbooks, and I wanted a sampling of TOM creators art.

I got:
-ochiaimaharu Postcards
-Iroruriha 2 by bachico
-Allegorica: Nekobayashi Artworks Vol. 3
-Gemi Art Book Vol. 5: Moist
-Sindbad the Sand-Cat: Eyeglass Cloth, Mini Mirror, and Wooden Keychain

Not gonna lie, I was a little worried upon receiving the box. It seemed a little light. In the end, I opened the box to find the pictured lucky bag. I got all the items that were promised, nothing more or less. Base item costs exactly equaled the base cost of this bag, $56.92. Luckily I bought this bag on sale and with...

Good collection of game art

I must admit that aside from Project Zero (Fatal Frame), I am unfamiliar with the games featured in this book. I mainly picked the book up because it was on sale. Still, I'm glad I did. I really enjoyed the couple of pages on Zero, and some of the other pages have me intrigued with other games. The book has a lot of character and smaller drawings, with some full-page pictures.

Not entirely sure I would have paid the full price for this book, but it is definitely worth the sale price. My favorite part of the book is the shiny spot-glass cover. It makes this book a really beautiful addition to the shelf.

Another must-have book for Kino's Journey fans

It's a shame this book is out of stock now, but if given the opportunity to buy this book, do not hesitate. Like I said in my review of Noir, for merchandise-starved fans of Kino's Journey, you can't go wrong with this book. The book is easily worth twice what I paid. There are fewer Kino's Journey illustrations this time around, but the artwork is of a much higher quality. The two-page spreads are simply gorgeous.

All around a great art book. Every page is fantastic.

Must-buy for Kino's Journey fans

If, like me, you're familiar with Kouhaku Kuroboshi due to Kino's Journey, then you absolutely must pick up this book. The first third or so of the book is packed with gorgeous Kino's Journey artwork, with some Gakuen Kino works directly following it. There's also a neat Kino's Journey poster included in the front (that I have been too afraid to pull out). This alone would have made the book worth it for me, as Kino's Journey is my favorite anime and has nearly no merchandise, excluding the rare and expensive Good Smile Company figure.

As an artbook alone, I still highly recommend Noir, especially for this price, which is lower than it's shelf pric...
