They really did a lousy job showing off this Nenderoid. There is so much more you can do with it and enjoy from it than the images imply. ESPECIALLY if you grab the Ragnarok DX version of Thor too. They go together really well and the plethora of options is astounding. I set my Loki and Thor up to bookend a stack of PS4 game boxes and it looks really nice. Strongly encourage getting both!
This is without a doubt one of the best if not THE best Marvel Nenderoid thus far. Tons of customization options, great design, and very easy to set up and display (and yes, that matters. Because some Nenderoids are a nightmare to set up). If you were to only get one Marvel Nenderoid this would probably be it. Oh and if you get the Loki one they can be set up together for a really cool look. I set mine to look like (but obviously not actually function) as bookends.
These and the other Touhou glasses inspired by other characters are nice designs but they are pretty lacking in actual stuff to reference Touhou. They also have some VERY big problems Optometry wise, basically only a small fraction of people who WEAR glasses can actually use these because unlike most modern glasses they cannot be adjusted to hold different types of lenses or to fit different size faces. Unless you magically fit the right size and prescription for them you are just being an art piece. Which again, is not saying much since beyond a few lines and symbols its just a pair of glasses with the same color as a Touhou character. And a clear file you could find literally anywhere else...Read more
Unlike most Aniplex releases in the US this one actually comes with everything it is supposed to. The price is still gouged a good bit higher than it should be, but this is Aniplex we are talking about. We should just be happy they put all the content and materials in this time without jacking the price even more than it already is. The only other series to they give this level of effort into discs for is SAO and those cost 200+ for 1 cour.
Anyone who has been around a while knows that when Aniplex gets their hands on a show it is a pretty serious blow to disc collectors, since their releases are jacked up to double (sometimes even triple) the price for half the content and material other disc publishers offer. Not as insane as what they try to get people to pay for SAO. But paying this much for a disc without any of stuff that should come standard is not okay. Unless you are someone who wants to be sure you can still watch the show crisp and clean once licensing runs out, there is no reason to give Aniplex your money.
Noticed a lot of folks in these review that are not familiar with Figma. They are not large scale statues. They are an inch or two taller than a Nendoroid if that helps. She is really well detailed and easier to setup than most Figma style products. If you are new to these type figures be aware that the back peg can be a pain until you learn the trick to them and practice makes perfect in regards to the articulated areas. The joints aren't there to be a pain, they are there so you can have some customization options. The benefit of not being a massive $100+ statue
The figure is very well made from an artistic standpoint, she comes with tons of different options for customization of both her head outfit and weapons. The one big issue is the actual assembly of the figure. A lot of these pieces are a serious pain to assemble. Her main body, the ship and the platform/stand dont get along well and positioning requires a lot of trial and error. The hands that have holes in them for the turret and torps also dont like to cooperate but once theyre in they will usually stay in. The instruction booklet will not help you as much as it should since its basically just a diagram of all the pieces rather than actually explaining how they connect with each other. THI...Read more
All of the figures have their own individual box WITHIN the main box which is very helpful for packing and storing. I was surprised that they actually are pretty big for figures that go INSIDE a larger tank figure. They actually give you one random extra copy of a figure. In my case my extra figure was a second Darjeeling. One thing that should be noted is if you plan to get their tanks and put them inside only their torso and head go IN the tank as the legs and skirt have to be stored back into the little boxes for safe keeping. Absolutely love them, its unfortunate they dont fit in the tanks as one single figure but that would force the tanks to be made even larger to accommodate I suppos...Read more
Shipping was great, no damage and on time. If you have experience with figures that like to give you trouble configuring and posing you should be okay. But if you arent well versed in tricky figures TAKE YOUR TIME. She is worth it but you need to learn the trick to getting the ship to lock in and still pose correctly (mostly through trial and error). Her hands are alright but the gun is a nightmare to get into the fingers. I actually gave up and didnt pose her with it, just put the gun back in the box. The figure is mostly handmade though so maybe it was just mine that didnt want to cooperate. LOTS of options for hands and even 3 different expressions for her face which was a lovely surprise...Read more
The package arrived on time and undamaged. She actually assembles pretty easily as long as you stop and read the directions before messing with anything. I love that they built supports for the gear on her legs so it doesn't slide around in the knob. It actually sits in the proper position and doesn't slip around. Strongly encourage any AoT fan to get this one. Make sure to pay attention to which side of the bar you're putting in her foot, the directions are a little unclear about which side of the bar goes in the plate and which one goes into her foot.
