The Legend of Zelda series is a very well-known action and adventure collection of video games published by Nintendo and created by Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka. Since the debut of the series in 1986, many other sequels, spin-off games, and various other types of media based on the games have been released. Through the many different games in the series, players play as the protagonist Link and his many different incarnations. As such, he has generated many fans, followers, and enthusiasts over the years. Many different merchandise products including figures and plushies have been inspired by the character, one of which is Nintendo’s own amiibo line. Amiibo combine the collectibility of small figures with the functionality of NFC chips, resulting in a product that fans can collect and use in-game to unlock a variety of different features. Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Link Amiibo
The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Link Amiibo is an amiibo based on Link as he appears as an adult in Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This amiibo was released as a part of the series’ 30th anniversary and has the protagonist wearing his iconic green tunic and hat, as well as his brown boots. Link himself is posed holding the Ocarina of Time up to his mouth, as if he were in the middle of playing a song. Other small details like the buckles on his boots, Hylian shield, and the legendary Master Sword have also been recreated, showing that a significant amount of effort was put into this amiibo. His leather gauntlets, blonde hair, and bright blue eyes also create a satisfying combination of colors to the figure, giving it a nice balance that stands out against his green tunic.

Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Archer Link Amiibo
The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Archer Link Amiibo is one of the amiibo figures based on Link’s Breath of the Wild incarnation. In this amiibo, Link is shown jumping mid-air with his bow fully drawn and an arrow notched, prepared to take down his target. A quiver full of arrows can also be seen behind Link’s back, showing that he is ready to launch a flurry of arrows at a moment’s notice. Link is also wearing his Champion’s Tunic, a light blue and beige outfit that deviates greatly from the forest green tunic that fans have come to love. As he also doesn’t wear a hat, Link’s dark blonde hair can be seen in much more detail. Since Link is in a rather action-packed pose, he wears an intense, focused expression on his face.

Legend of Zelda 8 Bit Link Amiibo
The Legend of Zelda 8 Bit Link Amiibo is an amiibo that recreates a 3D version of Link’s sprite from his original appearance in The Legend of Zelda game for the NES. As the NES is an 8-bit system, the amiibo figure looks like it is made with a bunch of colored blocks, as art for video games was significantly throttled due to technological limitations at the time. That said, the blocky model of this amiibo accurately recreates the original sprite, giving it an old-school retro aesthetic. Despite being based on an NES sprite, many discerning features can still be made out, like Link’s green tunic, brown belt, and shield. This amiibo is also currently the only amiibo that has been based on a character’s design from an NES game, making it quite unique. Fans and collectors alike can enjoy this wonderful amiibo.

About Link
Link and various incarnations are the main protagonists in the Legend of Zelda games. Most games feature a different Link in a myriad of different designs ranging from a darker, more realistic style in Twilight Princess, to a lighthearted cartoony style seen in games like Wind Waker. Either way, Link stands with other classic Nintendo characters like Mario and Donkey Kong as one of the company’s most popular and recognizable characters in video game history. Due to his popularity, he has appeared in several other Nintendo games, most notably Super Smash Bros. (in several different forms) and Mario Kart.
No matter which Zelda game one plays, Link is the legendary hero of Hyrule, though he may not know it. He ends up adventuring through many lands and dungeons and discovers numerous different items and secrets that will help him on his quest to defeat the evil Ganon. Some of his more iconic weapons include a shield, bow, boomerang, the hookshot, and, of course, the legendary Master Sword.
