OtapediaSuper Smash Bros Amiibo - Merchandise

The amiibo line of Nintendo figures was first launched with the fourth entry in the Super Smash Bros series. A special feature of the amiibo is the NFC chip found in each figure, which allows it to communicate with various Nintendo games to unlock a number of different features depending on the current game being played. For example, when playing Super Smash Bros. amiibo can be used to create a fighter character played by an evolving A.I. that be trained by a player. The Super Smash Bros. series itself is a battle-royal style fighting game that features a wide range of characters hailing from numerous Nintendo games (and some third-party titles as well). Each character has its own unique set of attacks and statistics, allowing for a variety of different playstyles. Unlike other fighting games, instead of having a health bar, the objective of this series is to knock one’s opponent off of the playing field. After the first entry of the series launched on the Nintendo 64 in 1999, the Super Smash Bros. games have become a hit and were chosen to be the series to introduce the world to amiibo. Some of the most popular amiibo figures include the “Cloud Strife amiibo”, the “Kirby amiibo”, and the “Super Smash Bros. Wave 4 - Charizard (U.S. Ver.) amiibo”.

Super Smash Bros. Cloud Strife amiibo

The protagonist of the popular Final Fantasy VII game is the most sought after amiibo figurines. Cloud Strife was once a member of Shrina’s SOLDIER force, but left to become a mercenary with team AVALANCHE. The figurine features Cloud wearing his iconic SOLDIER uniform that he wore throughout the original video game. His physical features include his iconic blonde hair, blue mako-filled eyes, and a cold, stern expression. Cloud also carries the instantly recognizable Buster Sword, a memento from Zack, a fellow SOLDIER from the original story line.

Kirby amiibo Super Smash Bros (U.S. ver)

As one of the most popular and familiar characters of Nintendo, it’s no surprise that this Kirby amiibo would be equally as sought after. As the protagonist of his own franchise, Kirby’s pink round body and overall happy disposition makes him one of the most recognizable characters Nintendo has. The figurine faithfully recreates Kirby’s cute, cheerful smile as he calmly sits down.

This fearsome, yet cute dragon is capable of melting anything with its fiery breath. It is also able to fly high in the skies and possesses an immense amount of natural strength.
