nano’s new song “DREAM OF NETHERWORLDS” is the new opening theme for the currently broadcasting TV anime *Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi*. The song has a new sound unlike any before that incorporates both her rock band style and classical Japanese instruments reminiscent of the anime’s world including *shakuhachi* (a longitudinal bamboo flute), *shamisen* (a plucked stringed instrument), and *shinobue* (a transverse bamboo flute). The music video will no doubt glue viewers to their seat until the end with, in addition to the shakuhachi, shamisen, and cello, has a performance by dancers Nobuyoshi Asai, Jun Morii, Daisuke Oomiya, and Shô Ikushima, all in painted white, which blends Japanese and Western styles in complete harmony.
About nano
nano was born in New York, US and is an extremely talented bilingual singer able to sing in both Japanese and English. They began posting Western style guitar songs on YouTube and other similar video sites in 2010 and have since garnered the support of numerous fans both in Japan and abroad. In March of 2012 they released their debut album “nanoir.” Their 3rd album “Rock on.” released in 2015 reached 4th on the Oricon Daily Ranking and has established a firm hold in the J-Pop genre. Also, in March 2013 their first live “Remember your color.” held at Studio Coast in Shin-Kiba sold out on the same day tickets (2,500 total) went on sale. Thereafter the scope of their live performances increased with the Zepp tour inside Japan and in 2015 they held their first solo performances overseas in Germany and Taiwan. In May 2018, they decided to return to their home country to perform in San Jose. The packed house, an audience of 2,800, enjoyed the masterful performance.
