I watched and loved the original series when I was a wee boy years ago, so with the recent FLCL hype train leaving the station I needed to pick up this volume before the prices start to creep upwards. I think this is a fantastic book, like all of the Gainax "Groundwork" editions, with luxurious amounts of page space, character designs, animation frames, and background art.

A must have. I'm an unapologetic lover of Yoshiyuki Sadamoto.

For the fan who savors every frame of animation and design of this landmark series, you can't go without this. This book, like many of the Groundwork titles, is big, spacious, has loads of excellent drafts and full-color sketches and perspectives of this fantastic movie.

As I stated in my review for "Groundwork of Gurren Lagann the Movie: The Lights in the Sky Are Stars", these books are impressive and have all the art goodness a true fan of the series loves and admires. You can't go without it. I wouldn't recommend someone who has never seen the show BUT wants some naughty sketches of Yoko (which it has, but not enough, go watch the show instead :) )

Too bad that there aren't too many of these books available, and if you want this book 5 years from now, I doubt you'll be paying the prices that you can today. Get them while you still can!

This book is fantastic, full of delicious color pages and character designs, including frame by frame cuts of the short in color. As anyone who has seen this short knows, its very pervy, so you will reap the benefits of this short if your get it in this print form.

Gotta show the Expo some love

I love these storyboards. Being a big EVA fan, this book is indispensable. Absolutely can't live without. You can trust that these books arrive nice and new and they there is something simply magical about these artbooks.

I like this mug! The engraving is nice and clear and the design of the mug is great. But originally I wanted to use it for coffee and tea and this mug is not a good cup for that. The rim heats extremely easily. Use this mug for cold drinks and enjoy!

I love this artbook and I am extremely satisfied, you don't want to miss this in your collection if you have loved the universe of Dragon Ball and/or Dragon Quest. There is so much crossover art between the two series, awesome art you can't find anywhere else. It really surprised me, being such a big fan of Dragon Ball, how much cool art Toriyama did for fun that you can find in the volume. A must have!

This art book of Miyazaki's imagination is absolutely a gem in my collection. Full-color, vibrant designs of military aircraft with anthropomorphic pilots is my happy place, and if it is yours, this is the book for you.

In particular, if you like Porco Rosso, you are going to find a lot of art to love here! :)
