Urobuchi Gen, the screenwriter behind hits like Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Psycho-Pass, has announced an original anime project to be titled Obsolete!
Produced by CG anime studio Buemon, it will stream via the Bandai Namco Art YouTube channel as a YouTube Original work. In addition to Urobuchi, confirmed staff includes Yamada Hiroki and Shirado Seiji as directors, with Buemon handling animation.
In Obsolete, aliens make contact with humanity in 2014, requesting trade. In exchange for limestone, the aliens offer self-aware robots known as Exoframes. Cheaper than aircraft, tanks, or guns, and easily operable by anyone, Exoframe technology is set to change the world…
