Based on the manga by Coolkyousinnja, the series follows tired office lady Kobayashi, who ends up living with a dragon that has transformed herself into a human girl in a maid outfit. The first season of the TV anime was broadcast from January to April 2017.

In celebration of the announcement, a free 189-page sampler featuring the first chapters of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid spin-off titles Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Kanna's Daily Life by Kimura Mitsuhiro, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Elma's Office Lady Diary by Kazuma Ayumi, and Kobayashi-san-chi no Maid Dragon: Lucoa wa Boku no xx Desu by Utamaro will be available at online bookstores.

Official merchandise featuring new illustrations from Coolkyousinnja is also available at the Futabasha online store and the series will feature on the cover of the April edition of Monthly Action which is published on Feb. 25.

Feb. 12 saw the publication not only of the eighth volume of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, but also volumes six of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Kanna's Daily Life, and two of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Elma's Office Lady Diary. In celebration of the three books being released on the same day, Nico Nico Seiga is taking suggestions for the outfits that fans would like to see Kanna wear. Suggestions are being taken until Feb. 26, after which Kimura will pick one and create a new illustration.
