The anime adaptation of Kemono Friends is set to receive a second season!
The announcement came as a surprise to those who attended the event “Kemono Friends Live ~PPP Live~”, which was held in Tokyo at the Shinagawa Intercity Hall on Sept. 2. Officially titled Kemono Friends 2, the anime's first preview was simultaneously uploaded to YouTube.
Developed by Nexon, Kemono Friends first began as a mobile game that launched in 2015. Since then, it has morphed into a multimedia project with two games, a manga adaptation, and an anime adaptation under its belt.
The series follows protagonist Nana, who works at a large zoo called Japari Park housing all sorts of rare species. Thanks to a mysterious substance called “Sandstar”, most of the animals in the park have transformed into cute girls, which means her days are so much more fun and charming than she could have ever imagined.
