In This Corner of the World Gets 30 Extra Minutes of Film in New Extended Version!

An extended version of the award-winning animated film In This Corner of the World is set to premiere in Japan in Dec.!

Due to a slight title change, the film will premiere under the name Kono Sekai no (Sara ni Ikutsumono) Katasumi ni, translating to "In (Several More) Corners of This World". According to director Katabuchi Sunao, the new version will explore the experiences and feelings of those around Suzu with an additional 30 minutes of film. One such character will be Rin, a young woman that Suzu meets when she moves to Kure.

The newly released trailer and teaser visual has both Suzu and Rin as the focus.

Originally a manga series written and illustrated by Kouno Fumiyo, In This Corner of the World is a historical drama that premiered in Japan in Nov. 2016. A touching and poignant story about a young woman named Suzu, the film follows her life as a resident of Hiroshima before and after WWII and, most importantly, the atomic bombing.

Since its debut, In This Corner of the World has won over 50 awards, capturing the hearts of viewers with a message that, even during war, beauty must live on.

Kono Sekai no (Sara ni Ikutsumono) Katasumi ni is slated to premiere in Japan in Dec. 2018.
