Utada Hikaru Revealed as Penguin Highway Theme Song Artist!

J-pop legend Utada Hikaru will be contributing an original song to the upcoming animated movie Penguin Highway, directed by Ishida Hiroyasu and starring Kita Kana.

Penguin Highway is the story of a mysterious summer told through the eyes of a young boy who suddenly encounters a penguin in the middle of his ordinary town.

The movie's theme song, titled “Good Night”, is a brand new track penned by Utada after reading the original novel of the same name by Morimi Tomihiko ( Eccentric Family, Tatami Galaxy ).

Penguin Highway opens at cinemas across Japan on Aug. 17. Advance ticket sales are now available with the first bonus ticket gift being a roll of masking tape featuring a cute Penguin Highway illustration.
