Japanese musician MISIA’s “Kimi no Soba ni Iru yo” is to be featured as the main title theme for the Fullmetal Alchemist live action movie. With the movie’s Dec. 1 release fast approaching, MISIA has released the cover art for the CD single as well as a collaborative photo with the series’ hero Al.
“Kimi no Soba ni Iru yo” is a brand new track written by MISIA especially for the movie and is inspired by the franchise’s unique world view. In the collaborative visual, MISIA poses alongside Al wearing the distinctive 19th century military fashion familiar to fans of Fullmetal Alchemist.
The regular CD jacket also features MISIA in the Fullmetal Alchemist outfit with the lyrics of the song arranged around her like magic rings.
The first press limited edition of the CD single will come with an original Fullmetal Alchemist sticker, but the track will also be available for purchase via iTunes prior to the physical release.
MISIA’s “Kimi no Soba ni Iru yo” will be released on Nov. 29. Fullmetal Alchemist opens in cinemas across Japan from Dec. 1, 2017.
