Ever felt like jumping into the world of Gintama to join in the Yorozuya trio’s crazy shenanigans? Well, now you can do just that with Sunshine City Prince Hotel’s amazing Gintama-themed special concept room!
Located in Ikebukuro, this portal to Edo was created by SO-ZO, a company that brings 2D works to the 3D world through special rooms and spaces. With all your favorite characters here to join the party, this room is bursting with Gintama’s unique brand of wackiness, and guess what the best part is?! It’s actually a place for fans to stay at!
We at Tokyo Otaku Mode can never pass up a chance to hang out with Gintoki and the gang, so we headed down to take a look. With the Yorozuya Gin-chan door sign and poor Katsura’s wanted poster up at the entrance, it’s easy to tell just who we’ll be meeting inside.
Here he is - Gin-chan, all dressed up as a hotel staff member to welcome us!
And who are those two behind him? It’s none other than Hijikata and Okita - they’ve come for a holiday and checked in here as well. Okita’s suitcase is packed full with weapons, while poking out of Hijikata’s bags is - you guessed it - tons of mayonnaise…
Step inside, and you’ll find yourself transported to the one and only Yorozuya!
On the table, there are also a number of special amenities available only to guests staying at this collab room.
Of course, the messages in the notebooks are also fully in the style of Gintama. What could be that word written so many times on the bottom one?
Try opening the paper doors all around the room to reveal many more weird but awesome characters.
Even the bathroom isn’t safe from Gintama! If you remember the original story to each and every one of these gags, you’re a true Gintama master!
Take a peek inside the fridge… Which do you prefer?
Phew, what an experience! But hold on - what you’ve seen is just a small part of the amazing world that this collab room brings to life. There’s still tons more of that classic Gintama humor packed inside, just waiting to be discovered!
It looks like everyone’s love for Gintama is still at peak level, seeing as the special concept room in this report was fully booked out in just 15 minutes! However, there’s still a chance to get yourself some time with the Yorozuya crew, with reservations for standard rooms still open. Guests opting for this package will enjoy a luxurious room and score some exclusive Gintama merchandise, so head over to the official page to check out the details!
For all of you otaku who can’t make it to Japan just yet, never fear. There'll be more awesome collab rooms like this in the future, so stay tuned!
